    Sammanfattning : I det här specialarbetet undersöks hur de kommunikativa syftena för kallelsebrev inom specialistvården vid Sahlgrenska universitetssjukhuset i Göteborg realiseras textuellt, innehållsmässigt och multimodalt i kallelsebreven och dess bilagor. Syftet är att med hjälp av textanalytiska metoder synliggöra hur det som patienterna måste begripa framgår i breven, och hur enkelt det är att som patient göra rätt i den komplexa proceduren som dessa kallelsebrev initierar: att inför ett läkarbesök också boka tid för provtagning, lämna prover och – för vissa patientgrupper – förbereda sig inför provtagningen genom att fasta eller förbereda prover hemma.
