  1. 1. Identification of Vanadium-Binding Ligands in White Wine

    Kandidat-uppsats, Örebro universitet/Institutionen för naturvetenskap och teknik

    Författare :Freja T Trybom; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Vanadium; LD converter slag; wine; food waste; recycling.;

    Sammanfattning : Vanadin är en värdefull metall och kan lakas ur LD (Linz-Donawitz)-slagg med hjälp av vin. Ligander i vinet som lakar vanadin från LD-slagg studerades i denna rapport med mål att identifiera några av deras egenskaper såsom apparent molekylmassa och spektral information. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Methods to study device induced aggregation of proteins

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Livsmedelsteknik och nutrition (master)

    Författare :Marie Therese von Wowern; [2023]
    Nyckelord :protein formulation; protein aggregation; insulin; silicone oil; syringe; shear stress; subvisible particle; size exclusion chromatography; flow imaging microscopy; pharmaceutical technology; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : This work developed a method for the investigation of how medical devices, such as syringes and needles, affect the formation of subvisible particles in a protein drug without excipients. Protein-based pharmaceuticals are well known to be sensitive to different kinds of stress, and exposure to stress during the use of this device is unavoidable. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Characterization of potato protein and its calcium binding capacity

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Beräkningskemi; Lunds universitet/Tillämpad biokemi

    Författare :Signe König; Erika Thomson; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Patatin; Calcium; Food supplement; Calcium Assay; Alcalase; potato protein; Applied biochemistry; Biology and Life Sciences; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Calcium is essential for the human body as it has functions in the nervous system, bones and formation of teeth. Deficiency in this important nutrient can be detrimental to health and cause life-long issues. Calcium can be found in various foods, like dairy products, but certain plant-based alternatives to milk needs to be fortified with calcium. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Optimization of two high-performance size-exclusion chromatography methods with diode-array detection for protein quantification and purity assessment

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Centrum för analys och syntes

    Författare :Camilla Lane; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Method qualification; Protein concentration; Protein Purity; High Performance Size exclusion chromatography; Quality control; Analytical chemistry; Biology and Life Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Background: There is a need to develop methods of determining concentration and purity for two new affinity ligands, protein T and protein H, in order to ensure the quality of an industrial production of said proteins. Aims: To develop a High Performance Size Exclusion Chromatography, HPSEC, method to determine concentration and purity of protein T and to improve an existing HPSEC method for concentration and purity determination of protein H that show selectivity, display linearity between peak area and injection amount and give repeatable results. 5. 5. Towards time-resolved cryo-EM of SARS-CoV-2 replication-transcription complex and Staphylococcus aureus DNA gyrase

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för biologisk grundutbildning

    Författare :Anna Králová; [2023]
    Nyckelord :time-resolved cryo-EM; DNA gyrase; SARS-CoV-2; replication-transcription complex; protein purification;

    Sammanfattning : Time-resolved cryo-EM has already provided ground-breaking discoveries in various fields, including structural biology, biochemistry, and drug development. Compared to traditional structural biology methods where mostly stabilized conformations are reconstructed, the main advantage of time-resolved cryo-EM is its ability to capture dynamic processes in biological samples at near-atomic resolution, which allows for studying biological structures as they change and interact in real-time.
