    Sammanfattning : Meteorites are easily altered in the oxygen-rich environment on the Earth surface. Fossil meteorites are thus uncommon and in the ones, which are found, almost all minerals are secondary. However, the spinel group mineral chromite is resistant to alteration and has successfully been used as a proxy for ordinary chondrites in sediment. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : An impact crater is the result of a collision between a large and a smaller body. On Earth most of the cratering record has been erased because of tectonic processes and weathering. The Moon, however, displays a nearly complete record of impact events over the last 2 Gyr, and evidence of impact cratering events nearly 4 billion years old. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : This study aims to assess the normal inflow of extraterrestrial chromite to Earth. The results from the investigation are compared to earlier studies of middle Ordovician Orthoceratite Limestone in which 1 - 3 extraterrestrial chromite grains ( >63 ƒÊm ) per kilogram limestone were found.
