  1. 1. Assessing the biodiversity crisis within the Triassic-Jurassic boundary interval using redox sensitive trace metals and stable carbon isotope geochemistry

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Författare :Halla Margrét Viðarsdóttir; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Stenlille; Schandelah; redox conditions; C-isotopes; marine sediments; trace elements; enrichment factors; mass extinction; Triassic – Jurassic boundary; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Around the Triassic-Jurassic-Boundary time interval, a severe mass extinction event occurred, which has been associated to volcanism of the Central Atlantic Magmatic Province (CAMP). Significant amounts of greenhouse gases as carbon dioxide (CO2) or methane (CH4) and other volatiles are suggested to have been released into the atmosphere, leading to global warming with subsequent impact on the biosphere. 2. 2. Stratigraphy, sedimentology and geophysical assessment of the early Silurian Halla and Klinteberg formations, Altajme core, Gotland, Sweden

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Författare :Christopher Artursson; [2018]
    Nyckelord :Gotland; gamma ray; stratigraphy; carbonate sedimentology; drill core; Altajme; Ala-Fjäle; Klinteberg Formation; geophysical survey; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : The Altajme drillcore was recovered from near Buttle in central Gotland in 2015. The core was drilled in outcrop belt of the late Wenlock (Silurian) Klinteberg Formation as a result from an international drilling campaign between the Department of Geology at Lund University and Iowa University, USA. 3. 3. Submarine slope instability as a cause of contaminated sediment dispersal in Ångermanälven, Sweden

    Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Hannes Berg Wiklund; [2015]
    Nyckelord :Submarine landslides; contaminated sediments; weak layers; Ångermanälven; Undervattenskred; förorenade sediment; svaga lager; Ångermanälven;

    Sammanfattning : This study aims at providing results for the analysis of the stratigraphy underlying contaminated sediments in Ångermanälven. The contaminated sediments, containing heavy metals and persistent organic pollutants, are derived from wastewater discharged into Ångermanälven from nearby paper and pulp industries. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Sedimentary facies and fauna of the Late Silurian Bjärsjölagård Limestone Member (Klinta Formation), Skåne, Sweden

    Magister-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Författare :Susanne Nilsson; [2006]
    Nyckelord :Bjärsjölagårdkalkstenen; Ludlow; sedimentära facies; faunadiversitet; Laukatastrofen; stratigrafisk korrelation; Skåne; The Bjärsjölagård Limestone Member; sedimentary facies; faunal diversity; Lau Event; stratigraphical correlation; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Bjärsjölagårdkalkstenen i Skåne, södra Sverige, är av sen ludlowålder och utgör en del av Klintaformationen inom Öved-Ramsåsagruppen. Denna kalksten bildades under tiden för den globalt kända Laukatastrofen och ett kraftigt havsnivåfall i den Baltiska bassängen. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Early Ludlow (Silurian) graptolites from Skåne, southern Sweden

    Magister-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Författare :Andreas Nilsson; [2003]
    Nyckelord :Colonus Shale; limestone; graptolites; Ludlow; colonusskiffer; kalksten; graptoliter; Skåne; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : The Colonus Shale consists of light grey, greenish or bluish shale with some carbonate. At some localities mica and thin layers of grey limestone are also present. The Colonus Shale has an estimated thickness of 600-1100 m in Skåne. LÄS MER
