26. Into the Trading Book: Estimating Expected Shortfall
Magister-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Nationalekonomiska institutionenSammanfattning : In light of the revised 2019 proposals constituting the Fundamental Review of the Trading Book, which amend the third Basel Accord, expected shortfall is set to replace value at risk as the risk measure dictating banks' capital reserving requirements for exposure to market risk. This paper examines how best to accurately estimate expected shortfall from a regulatory perspective by carrying out an array of non-parametric as well as parametric methods over the recent years of financial instability. To investigate this, the following research questions were asked: How do students experience the situation of safety and security at their schools? How do students experience that external events impact their sense of safety and security? What conclusions can be made from the experiences and factors that emerge? The third research question is primarily answered by the researcher’s conclusions and reflections from the empirical evidence that emerges from the first two research questions. LÄS MER

30. The Role of Doulas in the Prevention of Obstetric Violence in Austria
Magister-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Tema GenusSammanfattning : This thesis research zeroes in on the role of doulas regarding prevention of obstetric violence by summarizing existing literature and providing first-hand insights from qualitative semi-structured interviews with three Austrian doulas, answering the question: What role do doulas play in the prevention of obstetric violence in Austria? The research and data analysis are based on the Birth Territory Theory with an intersectional perspective and the thesis aims at providing information on obstetric violence and the role that doulas play in its prevention. Currently this topic is hardly researched in Austria, even though globally one third of parturients experience violence while giving birth. LÄS MER
