Valdeltagande, korruption och ekonomi i Polen, 1989–2023 : En induktiv explorativ fallstudie om relationen mellan valdeltagande och medborgares uppfattning om korruption och ekonomi i Polen

Sammanfattning: The purpose of this paper is to examine if there is a connection between electoral participation and citizens perception of the economy and corruption between the year 1989-2023 in Poland and to see if it has changed and how. The methodology that is used in this paper is both of qualitative and quantitative character to study articles, data, and statistics. The result of the study shows that there is a correlation between higher electoral participation and better perception of economy from the citizens. The perception of corruption, which was the same 1989 as 2023, didn’t affect the voting turnout.  Better economy has made people vote either by teaching them how to participate in politics or as they have more to lose now due to better circumstances than 1989. The study shows that the area needs to be looked at in a greater depth to see if corruption has been neglected by the citizens or if they handle it through democratic participation.
