  1. 1. Nattfjärilar (Macrolepidoptera) längs smala kraftledningsgator omgiven av olika successionsstadier av boreal skog

    Kandidat-uppsats, Karlstads universitet

    Författare :Villemo Ulvrike; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Macrolepidoptera; moths; power lines; light trap; temperature; forest succession; season; Macrolepidoptera; nattfjärilar; kraftledningar; ljusfångst; temperatur; succession; skog; säsong;

    Sammanfattning : Ett av de primära hoten mot biologisk mångfald och populationsnedgångar är utvecklingen av de moderna jord- och skogsbruket, där intensifierad markanvändning vidare har lett till förlust av lämpliga livsmiljöer för många organismgrupper, inklusive insekter. Nattfjärilar anses vara en indikatorgrupp för miljöförändringar och deras nedgång har dokumenterats i flera europeiska länder. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Ljusföroreningars inverkan på nattlig pollinering : En paraplygranskning av mörkrets betydelse vid analys av urbana ekosystemtjänster

    Kandidat-uppsats, Högskolan i Halmstad/Akademin för företagande, innovation och hållbarhet

    Författare :Maria Novik; [2022]
    Nyckelord :light pollution; nocturnal; cascade; pollination; ecosystem services; urban planning; green infrastructure; ljusföroreningar; natt; kaskad; pollinering; ekosystemtjänster; stadsplanering; grön infrastruktur;

    Sammanfattning : Outdoor artificial light at night (ALAN) is raising concern as a possible cause of the loss of insect diversity. Due to a diurnal bias in standard methods in environmental monitoring and urban ecosystem service assessments, the issue has remained in the dark and especially relevant for nocturnal pollination, which is less well known. 3. 3. Using Dynamic Double Machine Learning for Guided District Heating Forecasting and Physical Parameter Extraction

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Matematisk statistik

    Författare :Justinas Smertinas; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Double Machine Learning; Time Series; District Heating; ARMAX; Forecasting; Solar Gain; Diurnal Effects; Mathematics and Statistics;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis’ main goals were to provide accurate forecasts and informative physical parameter estimates for energy use of the district heating in the Tingbjerg neighborhood, Copenhagen. Our work is aimed as a contribution for future work towards efficient on-demand energy production. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Effects of Salinization on Lake Metabolism

    Kandidat-uppsats, Karlstads universitet/Institutionen för miljö- och livsvetenskaper (from 2013)

    Författare :Emil Nordström; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Freshwater ecology; carbon flux; mesocosms; diurnal variation;

    Sammanfattning : With rising salinity levels in many freshwaters across the globe caused by for example sealevel rise and de-icing salts, it becomes important to understand what effect it has on freshwater ecosystems, since the lakes and rivers themselves are important parts in the global carbon cycle. In this study I have looked at what effects increased salinity levels have on different lakes metabolism, specifically oxygen concentration and primary production. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Energy balance closure, water balance, carbon exchange, and water use efficiency : observed and modeled outcomes for a managed, hemiboreal forest in Southern Sweden

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Linsey Marie Avila; [2019]
    Nyckelord :Energy balance; energy balance closure; energy balance ratio; net radiation; sensible heat; latent heat; turbulent fluxes; ground heat flux; energy storage; available energy; Bowen ratio; evaporative fraction; latent heat of vaporization; water balance; evapotranspiration; precipitation; water storage; water discharge; gross primary production; ecosystem respiration; net ecosystem production; carbon exchange; water use efficiency; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : The claims for the potential of boreal and sub-boreal forests to combat negative effects of climate change have been substantial with over half of Earth’s primary forests found within boreal and temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere. Given the likely occurrence of more extreme climate events in the future, ascertaining a better understanding of how climate effects, such as profound fluctuations in precipitation, decreases in yearly snow, faster snow melt rates, variability in evapotranspiration due to environmental stress, and related changes in the energy, hydrological, and carbon cycles will change these northern, boreal landscapes is crucial.
