    Sammanfattning : The purpose of this study was to investigate whether sleep leads to more flexible use of defense mechanisms, and linkages between defense structure, anxiety and nightmares, the two conditions, sleep and rest. 69 participants were recruited for the study and they were divided into a sleep group (n = 48) who received a period of sleep during the daytime while the other partcipants (n = 16) rested during the same period.
