    Sammanfattning : The ancient South American birds called tinamous (Tinamidae) have the smallest hearts known among birds and their cardiomyocytes have previously been shown to express significantly lower levels of the mitogen-activated protein kinase ERK compared to the more modern chicken (Gallus gallus).
