  1. 11. Identifiering av riskområden där sulfidsediment oxideras till följd av grundvattensänkning Fallstudie av fem vattendrag vid Norrbottenskusten

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Miljövetenskaplig utbildning

    Författare :Erika Filppa; [2012]
    Nyckelord :Sulfide sediments; drainage; acid sulphate soils; streams; sulfuric acid; metals; pH; conductivity; EU Water Framework Directive; GIS; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Streams in Norrbotten County, near the coast of the Gulf of Bothnia in northern Sweden, suffer from recurrent episodes of low pH and high metal concentrations, which have resulted in fish kills and cadmium levels exceeding environmental quality standards defined in the EU Water Framework Directive. The cause of these acid episodes is that sulfide sediments, which are quite common under the highest coastline of the Littorina Sea, form acid sulphate soils when drained for agricultural and forestry purposes. 2. 12. Holocene environmental changes as recorded in sediments from Kaggfjärden, southern archipelago of Stockholm, using diatom stratigraphy

    Kandidat-uppsats, Institutionen för livsvetenskaper

    Författare :Lena Ivarsson; [2011]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Four sediment cores were sampled in Kaggfjärden, located in the southern archipelago of Stockholm. Two of the cores were analyzed with respect to the diatom record and lithology. Terrestrial macrofossils were dated using Carbon-14 dating. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Ocean acidification effects on marine organisms : a study of Littorina littorea and Balanus improvisus

    Kandidat-uppsats, Sektionen för ekonomi och teknik (SET)

    Författare :Isak Domeij Hilliges; Cecilia Stendahl; [2011]
    Nyckelord :ocean accidification; accidification; pH; sea; marine organism; marine; littorina littorea; balanus improvisus; periwinkle; barnacle; CO2; acid; ecosystem; activity; cirral movement; calcium carbonate system; buffering; low pH; havsförsurning; försurning; pH; hav; marina organismer; marin; littorina littorea; balanus improvisus; havstulpan; strandsnäcka; CO2; surt; ekosystem; aktivitet; cirrala rörelser; buffrande; lågt pH;

    Sammanfattning : The world’s oceans are becoming more acid in a process called ocean acidification. The pH of the ocean have already decreased by 0.1 units from pre-industrial time until today. Scientists predict that by the year of 2100 the pH will decrease by as much as 0. LÄS MER

  4. 14. En sediment- biostratigrafisk undersökning av den tidigare Littorinalagunen vid Barsebäck, SV Skåne, med en beskrivning av en preboreal klimatoscillation

    Magister-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Författare :Ewa Romberg; [2000]
    Nyckelord :Barsebäck; Littorina-lagunen; biostratigrafi; sedimentologi; geografi; geologi; Skåne; Preboreal klimatoscillation; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Populärvetenskaplig sammanfattning: Barsebäcksmossen, som är belägen vid kusten i sydvästra Skåne, är i dag en kärrmark, men den har tidigare varit en brackvattenlagun av Littorina-havet (ett tidigare stadium i Östersjöns utveckling, som kännetecknas av en betydlig högre salthalt än i nutid). Jag har studerat Barebäcksmossens utveckling genom att analysera pollen, frukter och frön, samt skal av snäckor och musslor, som finns bevarade i provtagna sedimentprofiler. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Early Holocene water level changes as recorded on the island of Senoren, eastern Blekinge, southeastern Sweden

    Magister-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionen

    Författare :Boniface M. Gichina; [1995]
    Nyckelord :geography; geology; Early Holocene; water level change; Senoren island; Blekinge; Sweden; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Popular scientific summary: This paper presents a study carried out in the fall of 1994 on Senoren, an island of the Karlskrona archipelago. Considering the aim of the study which was to record Early Holocene water level changes in the Baltic Sea, two bays, Sörevik and Norrevik on this island were chosen because they lie in the province of Blekinge in southeastern Sweden.
