  1. 1. Petrological, geochemical and structural evidence of fluid-rock interaction in the Siljan Ring

    Kandidat-uppsats, Stockholms universitet/Institutionen för geologiska vetenskaper

    Författare :William Crang; [2024]
    Nyckelord :methane; hydrothermal fluids; fluid-rock interaction; impact craters; reduction haloes; pyrite preservation; Siljan Ring;

    Sammanfattning : The Siljan Ring in Dalarna, Sweden is the site of the largest meteor impact crater in Europe and has long been a topic of discussion regarding methane production. However, the source of this methane and the timing of production in relation to the impact remain unclear. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Standard Arabic and Scottish Gaelic: Shared typological features

    Magister-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för filosofi, lingvistik och vetenskapsteori

    Författare :Barbara Bakker; [2023-08-16]
    Nyckelord :Standard Arabic; Scottish Gaelic; Semitic; Celtic; substrate hypothesis; contact theory; structural similarity; typological feature; typological universals;

    Sammanfattning : Although Celtic languages and Semitic languages belong to separate language families, they share numerous typological similarities that are common to Semitic languages but not shared by Standard Indo-European languages. The occurrence and the reasons for these similarities have been the focus of a whole research field, concerned with linguistic, historical, and anthropological hypotheses about possible reasons for said similarities, as well as with linguistic analyses and comparisons of specific Celtic and Semitic languages, such as Hebrew, Welsh and Breton. 3. 3. Hydraulic Modelling of Eurasian Beaver Structural Modifications: Implications for Evaluating their Contributions to Natural Flood Management in Scotland

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Riskhantering och Samhällssäkerhet

    Författare :Maja Christina Pitcairn; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Beaver reintroduction; Scotland; Flood risk; Natural flood management; Hydraulic modelling.; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : The concurrent climate and biodiversity crises in Scotland necessitate the exploration of ecosystem-based adaptation to simultaneously address increased flood risk and the loss of native species. This research investigated the contributions of Eurasian beaver reintroductions to natural flood management in Scotland. LÄS MER

  4. 4. At the Sustainable Finance Frontier - Sustainability-Linked Bonds: Targets, Sustainability Profiles and Yield Spreads

    Magister-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Företagsekonomiska institutionen

    Författare :Mikko Ala-Porkkunen; Rasmus Roth; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Sustainability-Linked Bonds; Yield Spreads; Sustainability Performance Target; Corporate Social Responsibility; Efficient Market Hypothesis; Business and Economics;

    Sammanfattning : Purpose: To investigate whether the ambitiousness of sustainability performance target and/or issuer sustainability profile have an influence on Sustainability-Linked Bond (SLB) yield spreads. Methodology: The utilized econometric approach is OLS regressions on a cross-sectional data. LÄS MER

  5. 5. A Machine Learning Approach on Analysis of Emission Spectra for Application in XFEL Experiments

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för fysik och astronomi

    Författare :Harald Agelii; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Structural biology; Machine learning; Neural networks; emission spectrum; XFEL; X-ray free electron laser; SFX; Serial femtosecond X-ray crystallography; Proteins; Diagnostics;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis we investigate two potential applications of machine learning in the context of X-ray imaging and spectroscopy of biological samples, particularly such using X-ray free electron lasers (XFEL). We first investigate the possibility of using an emission spectrum, recorded from a sample after being probed by an incident X-ray, as a diagnostic tool. LÄS MER
