  1. 1. An online study of L2 relative clause processing: Evidence from self-paced reading in Persian learners of English

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Allmän språkvetenskap; Lunds universitet/Masterprogram: Språk och språkvetenskap

    Författare :Abdolnoor Khaleghi; [2022]
    Nyckelord :relative clause; online L2 processing; second language comprehension; attachment preference; self-paced reading; heuristic processing; good-enough approach; working memory span.; Languages and Literatures;

    Sammanfattning : This study examines relative clause (RC) processing in Persian learners of English and native speakers of English to explore whether or how different task demands, referential context information with three potential RC antecedents along with the variables noun type (definite, indefinite), RC length (short, long) and RC type (extraposed, non-extraposed) affect their processing, using both an online non-cumulative self-paced reading task and an offline questionnaire. In the self-paced reading task, the online processing of RC attachment resolution was examined when participants read temporarily ambiguous sentences with RCs preceded by one clause or two clauses containing three NPs followed by comprehension questions to explore L2 RC attachment preferences. 2. 2. Mapping Sweden’s regional food strategies : An analysis of resilience and food security

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Hållbar utveckling, miljövetenskap och teknik

    Författare :Amanda Stenberg; [2021]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Global changes such as climate change and population growth, and unexpected shocks and stresses such as natural disasters, and economic and political crises, are factors leading to an increased pressure on the food system. In order to approach these issues, the concept of resilience may be used, looking at how well the system is able to withstand and adapt to changes over time and provide food security during such crises. 3. 3. Cognitive Load Theory as a Predictor for Citation Count

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för psykologi

    Författare :Samuel Karl Ramos; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Cognitive Load Theory; Gunning Fog Index; Type-Token Ratio; Dale-Chall Score; Social Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : The purpose of this study is to examine if the cognitive load that is induced from different degrees of text complexity in scientific abstracts has an influence on how often the study will get cited. While the influence of cognitive load is well documented in research of activities such as attention allocation, decision making and reading comprehension, it is not known whether such effects can also be applied to more complex activities, such as whether a scientific paper will be influential (or not). 4. 4. Modelling Immediate Serial Recall using a Bayesian Attractor Neural Network

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Julia Ericson; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Bayesian Confidence Propagating Neural Network; Phonological Loop; Computational model; Immediate serial recall; Bayesian Confidence Propagating Neural Network; Fonologiska loopen; Datorsimulation; Sekventiellt korttidsminne;

    Sammanfattning : In the last decades, computational models have become useful tools for studying biological neural networks. These models are typically constrained by either behavioural data from neuropsychological studies or by biological data from neuroscience. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Datorbaserad fonologisk lästräning för barn med hörselnedsättning : En undersökning av fonologisk medvetenhet och ordavkodning

    Magister-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Logopedi

    Författare :Eva Abrahamsson; Linnéa Quick; [2015]
    Nyckelord :logopedi; barn med hörselnedsättning; hörapparat; fonologisk medvetenhet; ordavkodning; datorbaserat lästräningsprogram; transfer;

    Sammanfattning : Randomized controlled trials evaluating the effect of various forms of literacy training with reliable tests are lacking in Sweden today. The aim of the present study was to investigate whether a cross-over design and the use of phonologically matched wordlists specifically designed to detect transfer, would yield a more thorough method and reliable results.
