In this thesis I explore if the Swedish tax credit on charitable giving, which was in effect between the years 2012 and 2015, influenced charitable giving. 2. Giving It All: The impact of a minimum restriction on donor behavior

While individuals in the control group could select any donation they wanted and keep the rest of the endowment, participants in the treatment group had to donate at least 30% of the endowment if they chose to donate. Följande hypoteser användes: 1) Både sociala närhetsnormer (du agerar som personer du känner samhörighet med gör) och provinsiellas normer (du agerar efter de lokala normer som gäller för platsen du befinner dig på) ökar människors intentioner att donera till välgörande ändamål jämfört med ett standardförfarande där välgörenhetsorganisationen enbart signalerar altruistiska ideal och 2) Sociala närhetsnormer leder till starkare intentioner att donera jämfört med provinsiella normer.
