  1. 1. Biochar and district heating : The path to negative emissions

    Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för samhällsbyggnad och industriell teknik

    Författare :Amanda Widlund; Thomas Norström; William Isaksson; Andreas Andersson; [2023]
    Nyckelord :biochar; pyrolysis; climate impact; carbon sink; district heating;

    Sammanfattning : Uppsala Kommun is developing a new city district called Sydöstra staden (SÖS) as an innovative and transformative city district. A technical supply system that aligns with the district’s goals is pyrolysis. Pyrolysis is a process where biomass is heated without the supply of oxygen. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Exploring the solar park market in Lower Saxony : Implications on foreign companies’ entry strategies

    Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Industriell miljöteknik

    Författare :Patricia Chronéer; Nike Hammerman; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Solar Parks; Lower Saxony; Germany; Entry Strategies; Drivers; Barriers; Regulatory Landscape; Social Landscape; Technical Landscape; Economic Landscape; Geographical Landscape; Market Potential; Electricity Production;

    Sammanfattning : To meet the European Union’s target of climate neutrality by 2050 ambitious measures need to be taken. The electricity sector is one of the largest contributors to greenhouse gas emissions globally, which makes it an important sector to decarbonize. For this to happen, fossil fuels must be replaced by renewable energy sources. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Unlocking the Potential of Solar-Hydro Hybrid Solutions: Feasibility and Economic Analysis

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Lunds universitet/Industriell elektroteknik och automation

    Författare :Måns Rosberg; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Hydropower; Solarpower; Hybrid power production; Solar-hydro hybrid power; Reservoir storage; Energy storage; Pumped hydro power; Floating PV; PV; Photovoltaics; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Hybrid solutions that combine multiple renewable energy sources, such as solar power and hydro power, are gaining popularity as a means of meeting the growing energy demands while minimising environmental impacts, but also as an opportunity of connecting solar power plants to the grid in areas where this might not be possible unless large investments are made. This master thesis aims to evaluate the feasibility and economic viability of integrating solar panels with an existing grid connection point at a hydro power plant, along with the introduction of an energy storage solution using a hydro power plant reservoir. Sammanfattning : The building sector is one of the sectors with the highest energy utilization and is one of the largest sources of CO2 emissions worldwide. At the same time, energy prices in Europe have significantly increased in recent years. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Financing the Nordic Energy Transition: An Empirical Analysis of Leverage, Pricing and Return Expectations in Renewable Energy Transactions

    D-uppsats, Handelshögskolan i Stockholm/Institutionen för finansiell ekonomi

    Författare :Franziska Grünthaner; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Buyouts; Leverage; Valuation; Renewable Energy; Infrastructure Investment;

    Sammanfattning : This study examines whether leverage and pricing in transactions of renewable energy infrastructure assets are impacted by the same factors that have been found to determine financial structures in buyout transactions. It primarily draws on a proprietary data set of 261 wind and solar photovoltaic (PV) transactions in the Nordics between 2011 and 2023 and explores the effect of acquirer-, asset-, and industry-specific characteristics as well as time-varying variables on leverage, pricing and return expectations.
