  1. 1. Chariots of the Atlantic Warriors - A Comparative Study of Chariot Motifs on Scandinavian and Iberian Rock Art

    Master-uppsats,

    Författare :Hannes Grahn; [2023-03-17]
    Nyckelord :Bronze Age; Rock art; Chariots; Scandinavia; Iberia; Long-distance interaction; Frännarp; Kivik; Villfara; Iberian warrior stele;

    Sammanfattning : During the last two decades, ideas of long-distance interaction between cultures has gained an increased amount of attention in the field of Bronze Age research. Previous research has shown that such a long-distance interaction, connected to the trade of metal and amber, may have existed between Scandinavia and Iberia, facilitated by a group of seafaring warrior-traders, with a shared identity, set of values and cosmology. 2. 2. Conform with the Wind : Processing short-term ensemble forecasts with conformal based methods for probabilistic wind-speed forecasting

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Matematisk statistik

    Författare :Simon Althoff; [2023]
    Nyckelord :wind-speed; probabilistic; forecasts; forecasting; ensemble; post-processing; conformal prediction; conformal predictive systems; quantile regression forest; non-exchangeable; Mathematics and Statistics;

    Sammanfattning : Forecasting wind has always been an interesting subject, and as large parts of the world are relying more on wind for power production it is becoming even more important to have reliable forecasts. Probabilistic forecasts, where distributions are predicted in contrast to deterministic forecasts, are impor- tant for informed decision making. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Demonstration of Digital Selective Call spoofing

    Kandidat-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Institutionen för datavetenskap

    Författare :Axel Lindbäck; Yamha Javid; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Digital Selective Calling; Software Defined Radio; Spoofing; Cybersecurity; Maritime Communication Systems;

    Sammanfattning : Digital Selective Calling (DSC) is a vital maritime communications and safety system, enabling ships in distress to alert nearby vessels and coast guard stations of their emergency. While DSC is suitable for calling, its technical format is substandard from a cybersecurity perspective. LÄS MER

  4. 4. A new age in seafaring? Analysing the Dutch approach to incentivise a zero carbon fleet

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/LUCSUS

    Författare :Suzanne Oostdam; [2021]
    Nyckelord :environmental policy; policy effectiveness; sustainable shipping; ecological modernisation theory; sustainability science; the Netherlands; Social Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Contributing 3% of global annual carbon emissions, the shipping sector has to do its part to keep the global temperature under the maximum increase of 2°C. To fulfil this target, the Netherlands conceived the ‘Green Deal on Maritime and Inland Shipping and Ports’ in 2019. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Healthcare on the High Seas : A telemedical perspective on quality

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på grundnivå, Linnéuniversitetet/Sjöfartshögskolan (SJÖ)

    Författare :Hugh Lars Haakon Storlien; Anton Davis Halldin; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Telemedicine; telemedical; TMAS; maritime healthcare; seafaring; health care; shipping; medical equipment; video consultation;

    Sammanfattning : The Telemedical Assistance Service (TMAS) plays a vital role in medical care at sea by linking the medically responsible officers (MROs) on board with onshore physicians. This project aims to investigate telemedical providers’ perceptions of maritime health care quality today, as well as future potential improvements in this field. LÄS MER
