    Sammanfattning : This thesis explores different genres and modes of writing in short stories of the contemporary Indian author Uday Prakash, such as magical realism, the fantastic, regionalism, postcolonial and postmodern writing. It poses the question: “In which literary genre should Uday Prakash’s writings best be categorised?” The study is based on a reading of Prakash’s collection, 10 Pratinidhi kahāniyāṃ – Ten Representative Stories, consisting of ten stories of the author’s own choice.     Sammanfattning : This thesis presents a case study of a Swedish museum’s membership in a European network. Drawing on field material gathered through ethnographic methods, such as interviewing, participant observation and autoethnography, the thesis takes two theoretical perspectives: First, it conceptualizes the network membership as a form of cooperation, following Richard Sennett’s theory on the subject, and secondly discusses it in cultural economic terms, using Paul du Gay and Michael Pryke’s framework. Although the use of epigraphs is common in literary works, the purpose and function might differ; not only due to different intentions by authors but as claimed by French literary scholar Gerard Genette, the effect also relies on the interpretation of the reader.
