  1. 16. The foraging distribution of Cape gannets in relation to Addo Elephant National Park Marine Protected Area

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Wildlife, Fish and Environmental Studies

    Författare :Pelagia Maria Tsousi; [2023]
    Nyckelord :cape gannets; morus capensis; marine Protected Areas; addo Elephant National Park Marine Protected Area; foraging distribution;

    Sammanfattning : Seabirds are considered to be the sentinels of the ocean, as they are able to locate their prey in spite of the great heterogeneity of the marine environment. During the breeding season, these central-place foragers not only need to find prey to maintain themselves but also to feed their young. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Comparison of deep learning and model-based approaches for spatial profiling of the immune tumor environment on multiplex image data

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för informationsteknologi

    Författare :Esraa Ahmed; [2023]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The demographics of the tumor microenvironment (TME) impact the Immunotherapy responses for lung cancer patients. Given the heterogeneity of immune cells present within TME, the distribution patterns of different subpopulations of T-cells can be exploited to predict short-term or long-term survival of lung cancer patients. 3. 18. Cultural backlash to globalization and right-wing power: Import competition shaping sexual beliefs in Western Europe

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Ekonomisk-historiska institutionen

    Författare :Matteo Magnano; [2023]

    Sammanfattning : Does economic globalization impact sexual beliefs, contributing to the rise of right-wing parties? Although voters may not discern threats from trade shocks, individual economic insecurity theoretically impacts cultural attitudes and sparks a backlash towards outgroups, in turn contributing to right-wing candidates that campaign leveraging intolerance. Considering that scholars provide evidence for import competition strengthening support for right-wing parties, this study accounts for the peculiarities of European Parliament elections and their electoral outcomes of 2019. Sammanfattning : There is a general consensus amongst economists that taxing carbon emissions is an efficient policy tool for combating climate change. To fully understand the thorny issues surrounding the political economy and distributional effects of carbon taxation, more attention should be paid to the rural-urban dimension. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Carabidocoenoses and Fragments of Forests : exploring the Carabid Landscape

    Kandidat-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Forest Ecology and Management

    Författare :Simon Heinrich Arns; [2023]
    Nyckelord :biodiversity; Carabidae; carabid diversity; entomology; Fragmentation; Fragstats; habitat fragmentation; habitat Heterogeneity; landscape; landscape ecology; landscape Heterogeneity; pitfall trap; quantifying fragmentation;

    Sammanfattning : Epigeic ground beetles (Coleoptera: Carabidae) were sampled between 2021-06-28 and 2021-07-09 using pitfall traps in the Swedish counties Värmland and Gävleborg. The structural properties of the landscapes surrounding these points were estimated from the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency’s national land cover databases and the Swedish Forest Agency’s data for all formally protected and high conservation value forests using patch-based configurational metrics.
