  1. 1. Carabidocoenoses and Fragments of Forests : exploring the Carabid Landscape

    Kandidat-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Forest Ecology and Management

    Författare :Simon Heinrich Arns; [2023]
    Nyckelord :biodiversity; Carabidae; carabid diversity; entomology; Fragmentation; Fragstats; habitat fragmentation; habitat Heterogeneity; landscape; landscape ecology; landscape Heterogeneity; pitfall trap; quantifying fragmentation;

    Sammanfattning : Epigeic ground beetles (Coleoptera: Carabidae) were sampled between 2021-06-28 and 2021-07-09 using pitfall traps in the Swedish counties Värmland and Gävleborg. The structural properties of the landscapes surrounding these points were estimated from the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency’s national land cover databases and the Swedish Forest Agency’s data for all formally protected and high conservation value forests using patch-based configurational metrics. 2. 2. Pheromone-based monitoring of Elater ferrugineus as an indicator for species-rich hollow oak stands

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Plant Breeding and Biotechnology (until 121231)

    Författare :Klas Andersson; [2012]
    Nyckelord :Elater ferrugineus; Osmoderma eremita ; saproxylic; indicator ; Quercus sp. ; pheromones; conservation;

    Sammanfattning : The rare beetle Elater ferrugineus was sampled at 47 sites in the county of Östergötland, Sweden by means of pheromone-baited traps to assess its value as an indicator species for hollow oak stands rich in rare saproxylic beetle species. In addition Osmoderma eremita was sampled with the same method. LÄS MER

  3. 3. The importance of litter for interactions between terrestrial plants and invertebrates

    Magister-uppsats, Institutionen för ekologi, miljö och geovetenskap

    Författare :Maria Gelfgren; [2010]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : According to the exploitation ecosystem hypothesis (EEH), terrestrial ecosystems are characterized by well defined trophic levels and strong trophic interactions with community level tropic cascades. In unproductive terrestrial habitats as tundra heaths, the energy shunt from litter and apparent competition between herbivores and detritivores are expected to be important for the structure and dynamics of the invertebrate community. 4. 4. Power Lines - Wasteland or Biodiversity Hotspots?

    Magister-uppsats, Akademin för hållbar samhälls- och teknikutveckling

    Författare :Marcus Norström Paananen; Magnus Boström; Christian Ahlgren; [2008]
    Nyckelord :Power line; insects; forest edges; biodiversity; similarity index; mosaic landscape; pasture land; forest; Horns similarity index; kraftledningsgator; insekter; ekotonmiljö; kantzoner; biodiversitet; likhetsindex; mosaiklandskap; betesmark; skogsmark; hävd;

    Sammanfattning : Det svenska kulturlandskapet har förändrats radikalt under de senaste 200 åren från ett varierat och heterogent landskap till ett mer monotont, homogeniserat landskap som följd av att olika former av mänskligt resursutnyttjande har effektiviserats. Detta har lett till en fragmentering av livsmiljöerna för flera av kulturlandskapets arter. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Biologisk mångfald i små grönområden : Inventering av insekter och fåglar i bebyggda områden i Solna kommun

    Magister-uppsats, Institutionen för naturgeografi och kvartärgeologi (INK)

    Författare :Louise Thylén; [2006]
    Nyckelord :biodiversity; survey; birds; insects; biologisk mångfald; inventering; fåglar; insekter;

    Sammanfattning : All over the world the urbanisation increases at the expense of green areas. Many plants and animals are endangered today because their habitats gets smaller or disappear. The green areas that are left in city centres and suburbs are often small and surrounded by roads and buildings. LÄS MER
