  1. 1. Reconstruction of Genome-Scale Metabolic Models with Concomitant Constraint-Based Modelling for Flux Prediction – a Case Study of Syngas Consuming Hydrogenophaga pseudoflava

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Teknisk mikrobiologi

    Författare :Cristopher Ollagnier Widén; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Applied Microbiology; flux-balance analysis FBA ; genome-scale metabolic model GEM ; Hydrogenophaga pseudoflava DSM 1084; KEGG; metabolic engineering; metabolic modelling; metabolic network reconstruction; RAVEN; syngas; systems biology; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Metabolic modelling coupled with flux-balance analysis (FBA) has become a popular tool in systems biology for quantitative predictions of metabolic processes in silico, and as an aid in metabolic engineering. Drawing upon gene-protein-reaction associations deducible from information on the genome-level, so-called genome-scale metabolic models (GEMs) are unequalled in their scope as they attempt to encapsulate the entire reactome of a species or cell type. 2. 2. Energy & redox fluxes in Lactobacillus reuteri DSM 17938 on different sugars

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Teknisk mikrobiologi; Lunds universitet/Bioteknik

    Författare :Katarzyna Bengtsson; [2019]
    Nyckelord :Energy; redox fluxes; Lactobacillus reuteri DSM 17938; different sugars; applied microbiology; teknisk mikrobiologi; Biology and Life Sciences; Chemistry; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Under anaerobic condition the specific growth rate of Lactobacillus reuteri DSM 17938 on different sugars, was analyzed using spectrophotometry. Electron acceptor (fructose) supported cells to cope with poor energy recovery by re-oxidising the NADH, thus enabling ATP formation thru acetate production, while fermenting glucose via the phosphoketolase pathway (PKP) and simultaneously operating via Embden-Meyerhof pathway (EMP). 3. 3. Can you trust your model? A showcase study of validation in 13C metabolic flux analysis

    Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Institutionen för medicinsk teknik

    Författare :Nicolas Sundqvist; [2019]
    Nyckelord :Systems Biology; MFA; 13C MFA; Validation; EMU; Modelling;

    Sammanfattning : Cellular metabolism is one of the most fundamental systems for any living organisms, involving thousands of metabolites and reactions that forms large interconnected metabolic networks. Proper and comprehensive understanding of the metabolism in human cells has been a field of research for a long time. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Quantifying metabolic fluxes using mathematical modeling

    Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Institutionen för medicinsk teknik

    Författare :Victor Viberg; [2018]
    Nyckelord :Metabolic Flux Analysis; OpenFlux; carbon thirteen; Uncertainty Analysis; Cytoscape; Cancer; TCA-cycle; flux rate; metabolic reactions; systems biology; mathematical modeling; krebs cycle; model validation;

    Sammanfattning : Background Cancer is one of the leading causes of death in Sweden. In order to develop better treatments against cancer we need to better understand it. One area of special interest is cancer metabolism and the metabolic fluxes. As these fluxes cannot be directly measured, modeling is required to determine them. LÄS MER
