1. Radiation Effects on GaN-based HEMTs for RF and Power Electronic Applications
Master-uppsats, KTH/Tillämpad fysikSammanfattning : GaN-HEMTs (Gallium Nitride-based High Electron Mobility Transistors) have, thanks to the large band gap of GaN, electrical properties that are suitable for applications of high electrical voltages, high currents, and fast switching. The large band gap also gives GaN-HEMTs a high resistance to radiation. LÄS MER
2. Polymer gel dosimetry with MRI-readout for 3D dose verification - detector characteristics and clinical applications
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/SjukhusfysikerutbildningenSammanfattning : Background & Purpose: Radiation therapy is an essential treatment for cancer patients with the ultimate goal to deliver radiation doses to the tumour with precision while minimizing exposure to surrounding healthy tissues. Treatment verification is crucial to ensure the accuracy of radiation delivery, for instance by measuring the radiation dose distribution. LÄS MER
3. Neutron backgrounds in neutrino-nucleus scattering at the European Spallation Source
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Partikel- och kärnfysikSammanfattning : Being, when built, the most powerful neutron accelerator in the world, there will be a large number of potential discoveries at the European Spallation Source (ESS) in Lund. One of the most exciting of these, from a particle physics point of view, is the Coherent Elastic Neutrino-Nucleus Scattering (CEνNS). LÄS MER
4. Improving proton therapy planning with photon-counting spectral computed tomography
Master-uppsats, KTH/FysikSammanfattning : Proton radiation therapy is an alternative to conventional photon radiation therapy, which accounts for the majority of radiation treatments today. The rationale for using protons in radiation therapy lies in their dose deposition properties; photons deposit a radiation dose inversely proportional to the energy, and therefore tissue depth, while protons exhibit a sharp Bragg peak when traversing matter. 5. Experimental studies of radiation damage in uranium nitride
Master-uppsats, KTH/FysikSammanfattning : The effect of proton (H+) irradiation on uranium mononitride (UN) and UN compositefuel with 10 at.% ZrN (UN10at%ZrN) was examined. Protons of 2 MeV with fluences of1E17, 1E18, 1E19 and 1E20 ions/cm2 were accelerated towards the fabricated samples in orderto investigate the evolution of the micro-structure. LÄS MER
