  1. 1. Measuring the Utility of Synthetic Data : An Empirical Evaluation of Population Fidelity Measures as Indicators of Synthetic Data Utility in Classification Tasks

    Master-uppsats, Karlstads universitet/Institutionen för matematik och datavetenskap (from 2013)

    Författare :Alexander Florean; [2024]
    Nyckelord :Synthetic Data; Machine Learning; Population Fidelity Measures; Utility Metrics; Synthetic Data Quality Evaluation; Classification Algorithms; Utility Estimation; Data Privacy; Artificial Intelligence; Experiment Framework; Model Performance Assessment; Syntetisk Data; Maskininlärning; Population Fidelity Mätvärden; Användbarhetsmätvärden; Kvalitetsutvärdering av Syntetisk Data; Klassificeringsalgoritmer; Användbarhetsutvärdering; Dataintegritet; Artificiell Intelligens; AI; Experiment Ramverk; Utvärdering av Modellprestanda;

    Sammanfattning : In the era of data-driven decision-making and innovation, synthetic data serves as a promising tool that bridges the need for vast datasets in machine learning (ML) and the imperative necessity of data privacy. By simulating real-world data while preserving privacy, synthetic data generators have become more prevalent instruments in AI and ML development. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Evaluating probability weighting among lottery bond investors: an observational study on Cumulative Prospect Theory

    D-uppsats, Handelshögskolan i Stockholm/Institutionen för nationalekonomi

    Författare :Anton Eriksson Nyberg; Olof de Blanche; [2024]
    Nyckelord :Cumulative Prospect Theory; CPT; observational study; field study; lottery bonds;

    Sammanfattning : Cumulative Prospect Theory is a leading descriptive theory of decisions under uncertainty, backed up by a plethora of experimental evidence. This paper is one of the first to apply it to observational data. Risk attitudes in the bond market have not been studied in a CPT framework. We fill this research gap. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Battery-Storage Investment for a Power System with High Variable Renewable Energy Output

    Master-uppsats, Stockholms universitet/Institutionen för data- och systemvetenskap

    Författare :Elva Yunyan Wallimann; [2023]
    Nyckelord :decision and risk analysis; energy economics; capacity expansion; operations research; utility-scale battery;

    Sammanfattning : Climate change is posing significant threats to human beings. Deploying renewable energy sources in electricity generation is widely accepted as an indispensable part of the solution to climate change. The vast potential lies in variable renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Price policy estimation for Demand Response of heat-pump-based loads

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Carlos Eduardo Gil Simancas; [2023]

    Sammanfattning : The electricity grids have become a key player in the society. An increased usage of electricity is both a result from the more electrified society, but also as a main solver in reaching the climate goals by reducing emissions. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Skyline Delineation for Localization in Occluded Environments : Improved Skyline Delineation using Environmental Context from Deep Learning-based Semantic Segmentation

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för elektroteknik och datavetenskap (EECS)

    Författare :Kyle William Coble; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Skyline delineation; Skyline detection; Semantic segmentation; Terrain based navigation; Digital elevation models; Uncrewed surface vessel; Planetary exploration robots; Horisont avgränsning; Horisont upptäckt; Semantisk segmentering; Terrängbaserad navigering; Digitala höjdmodeller; Obemannat ytfartyg; Planetariska utforskningsrobotar;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis addresses the problem of improving the delineation of skylines, also referred to as skyline detection, in occluded and challenging environments where existing skyline delineation methods may struggle or fail. Delineated skylines can be used in monocular camera localization methods by comparing delineated skylines to digital elevation model data to estimate a position based on known terrain. LÄS MER
