  1. 6. Kan brand minska älgbetesskadorna? : En studie om älgbetesskador på tall

    Kandidat-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Forest Ecology and Management

    Författare :Paula Israelsson; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Alces alces; Pinus sylvestris; Älgbetesskador; Skogsbrand; Sverige; Finland; Moose grazing damage; Sweden; Forest fire;

    Sammanfattning : Skogsindustrin är viktig för den svenska handelsbalansen. Sverige är en världsledande exportör av massa, papper och sågade trävaror. Sverige var världens femte största exportör av massa, papper och trävaror, med Finland därefter på en sjätteplats på listan. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Behavioural Responses of Ungulates to Sound Systems : can simulated risk influence behaviour?

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Wildlife, Fish and Environmental Studies

    Författare :Carolin Veronika Berndt; [2021]
    Nyckelord :ungulates; landscape of fear; behavioural response; predation risk; playback experiment; ABR; management strategies;

    Sammanfattning : Increasing ungulate densities all over Europe are intensifying the ongoing human-wildlife conflict, embodied by mainly economical losses through damages in forestry and agriculture. Given the current circumstances, farmers and forest owners prefer a decrease in ungulate numbers through direct population control, whereas other stakeholders, such as hunters, wildlife watchers or photographers, prefer higher wildlife numbers. 3. 8. Safety Management Systems in micro and small air operators: mission possible?

    Magister-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Riskhantering och Samhällssäkerhet

    Författare :Stéphane de Wolf; [2021]
    Nyckelord :air operator; aviation; business aviation; civil aviation authorities; commercial air operator; corporate flight department; decoupling; institutional theory; isomorphism; management system; micro enterprise; non-commercial air operator; occupational health and safety; OHS; PDCA; personal safety; performance-based regulation; process safety; quality management; safety; Safety Management Systems; self-regulation; small enterprise; SMS; FLMU06; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis explores the rationality, completeness and functioning of Safety Management Systems (SMS) amongst micro- and small-sized air operators in business aviation. In the absence of thorough literature in this sector of aviation, a survey of prior research on OHS(MS) and on non-aviation micro/small enterprises (MSE) provided a collection of factors contributing to their safety performance. 4. 9. Using Conservation Conflict Transformation as a Framework to Address Social Conflict Over Wildlife in a Swedish County

    Master-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för globala studier

    Författare :Juliana Theresa Bennett; [2020-02-18]
    Nyckelord :Sweden; Västra Götalands län; Large Carnivore Management; Human-Wildlife Conflicts; Conservation Conflict Transformation;

    Sammanfattning : In Europe, and throughout the world, the return and preservation of large carnivores is escalating tensions between stakeholder groups, as well as between local actors and authorities. While wolf conservation efforts have generally been accepted across Swedish authorities, nature organizations, and the public, there are others who argue that the preservation of wolves is threatening local values and traditions. 5. 10. A remote-sensing approach to studying drought resistance in Swedish old-growth and production forests

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Julika Wolf; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Physical Geography and Ecosystem Analysis; drought impacts; old-growth forests; forest management; remote sensing; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Boreal forest ecosystems are predicted to experience hotter and drier summers due to climate change, leading to more frequently reduced soil water availability and an increased risk of droughts, as was already the case in Northern Europe during the severe summer drought of 2018. Prolonged water stress in forest ecosystems can lead to impacts ranging from reduced photosynthesis to forest dieback. LÄS MER
