  1. 1. In-line Phase-contrast Tomography using Betatron X-rays Produced by a Laser-Plasma Accelerator

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Atomfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Författare :Kristoffer Svendsen; [2017]
    Nyckelord :source size; x-ray; in-line; phase-contrast; phase contrast; LWFA; laser wakefield acceleration; tomography; diffraction; diffraction simulation; laser-plasma acceleration; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : X-ray phase-contrast imaging is a powerful technique that allows great resolving power for low absorbing samples, such as biological tissue. This method relies on measuring the phase shift induced by the sample instead of the absorption traditional radiography relies on. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Classification in Bone Scintigraphy Images Using Convolutional Neural Networks

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Matematik LTH

    Författare :Johnny Dang; [2016]
    Nyckelord :machine learning; deep learning; neural networks; convolutional neural networks; artificial neural network; ANN; CNN; bone scintigraphy; bone scan; prostate cancer; bone metastasis; bone scan index; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : The main goal of this thesis is to design and implement a convolutional neural network (CNN) to classify whether hotspots in bone scintigraphy images represent cancer metastases, caused by prostate cancer, or some other physiological process. A side task was included, where another CNN was designed and trained to classify whether a bone scintigraphy image image is acquired from the front of the patient (anterior) or from the back (posterior). 3. 3. Volumetric Quantification of Metastatic Burden from SPECT/CT Images

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Matematik LTH

    Författare :Hanna Carlsson; [2012]
    Nyckelord :Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Bone scintigraphy images are used to investigate the presence of metastases in patients with prostate cancer. An analysis of these images indicates the proportion of cancer in the bones; the Bone Scan Index (BSI). This value is an important prognostic factor used to predict the future for the patients.
