    Sammanfattning : To use en (one) as a generic pronoun in subject position, instead of the more traditional man, became more widespread in Swedish language during the beginning of the 21st century. The predominant motif of the substitution is to influence the language in a trajectory of gender equality by replacing the pronoun man, which can be considered androcentric due to its resemblance with the noun man (man).     Sammanfattning : The aim of this study is to compare how dales’ attitudes towards dalbo-dialekt differ between the following variables: age, geographical origin and gender. Therefore, this study presents three research questions: what attitude do dales have to their own dialect? How do these attitudes toward dalbo-dialekt differ in relation to gender, geographical origin and age? Is there any difference in the attitudes to dalbo-dialekt between people who were born and/ or raised in Dalsland and people who were not born and/ or raised in Dalsland?     Sammanfattning : Emigrants from Qingtian County (Zhejiang province, China) have a long and rich history in Europe, but to date, little research has been done on their unique language, or its role in Qingtianese diaspora communities. Drawing inspiration from other studies about attitudes towards, and use of, Chinese heritage dialects in China and overseas, the author examines attitudes toward Qingtian dialect using established quantitative and qualitative sociolinguistic research methods.
