This is done by collecting data from the Bidibidi settlement through interviews and discussions with the refugee and host population, as well as with relevant organizations and governmental actors. Common failure factors are poor component quality, mechanical exposure due to natural phenomena and poor craftmanship. This study compares disaster data for two of the most used disaster loss accounting databases, EM-DAT and DesInventar in the context of six Latin American countries, namely, Uruguay, Chile, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, and Venezuela.
