1. A re-investigation of hummocky moraine formed from ice sheet decay using geomorphological and sedimentological evidence in the Vomb area, southern Sweden
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Geologiska institutionenSammanfattning : Glacial sediment-landform assemblages have long been used to reconstruct the dynamics of ice sheets throughout the Quaternary time period, particularly so for the period of the last glaciation in northern Europe and southern Scandinavia. One such sediment-landform assemblage is hummocky moraine, which has previously been used as an all-encompassing descriptive terminology strongly associated with dead ice meltout and passive deglaciation. 2.
3. Impact of different atmospheric forcings on surface mass balance estimates in Greenland
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskapSammanfattning : The Greenland Ice sheet (GIS) is the second largest ice sheet on Earth and thus stores a large amount of Earths freshwater. Because of climate change and the Arctic amplification, GIS is experiencing changes and increased melt rates. The total mass budget determines the amount of sea level rise caused by input from freshwater from the GIS. LÄS MER
4. Aerosol Input and Snow Accumulation Rates on the Northern Greenland Ice Sheet : Reconstructed by means of Continuous Flow Analysis (CFA) of 6 shallow firn cores
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaperSammanfattning : Ice, firn and snow cores from the Greenland ice sheet offer a unique opportunity to reconstruct past climate conditions. These can be analyzed with continuous flow analysis (CFA) in order to acquire proxy information about ancient atmospheric aerosol concentrations, snow accumulation rates or temperature variations, atmospheric composition, solar activity as well as volcanism and biological activity. 5. A comparison of modelled precipitation in Greenland
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/FörbränningsfysikSammanfattning : The Greenland ice sheet develops throughout the year with the changing weather condi- tions. Precipitation contributes by increasing the mass, whilst warmth induces melting, which makes the ice sheet diminish. LÄS MER
