  1. 1. Exploring the Potential Plant Proteins as Structuring Agents: Designing Plant Based Alternatives to Dairy Products

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Industriell bioteknologi

    Författare :Sophie Elväng; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Pulses protein; protein concentrate; gels; solubility; emulsions; Baljväxter; proteinkoncentrat; gel; löslighet; emulsion;

    Sammanfattning : Dagens livsmedelsindustri genomgår just nu ett skifte mot mer hållbara lösningar. Ett område som kräver större fokus är utveckling av växtbaserade substitut för kött- och mjölkprodukter. Den största utmaningen här är att utveckla produkter med näringsinnehåll, textur och smak som efterliknar de animaliska produkterna. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Elemental variability in tree-rings as indicator for climate change : a case study on beech and oak trees at the Laacher See, Germany

    Master-uppsats, Stockholms universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi

    Författare :Ann-Kathrin Wild; [2022]
    Nyckelord :trace elements; tree-rings; dendrochemistry; dendroclimatology; ITRAX; Laacher See; mofettes; tree-bark; Quercus sp.; Fagus sp.;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this study was to contribute to the comprehension of the connection of element uptake in trees at the Laacher See in Germany and climatic parameters on different time scales. Understanding the relationship of certain elements in trees and temperature might enable the assignment of extraordinary high peaks in the elemental concentration, which cannot be explained by temperature, to another process as CO2 degassing of the mofettes, which are relics of the volcanic past of the lake. 3. 3. Leachate-Based Biotic Ligand Model for Soil : Ecotoxicological Risk Assessment of Copper for Invertebrates, Plants, and Soil Microbial Processes

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Hållbar utveckling, miljövetenskap och teknik

    Författare :Tove Florén; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Tomato shoot; Barley root; Glucose induced respiration; Nitrification; Earthworm; Springtail; EC10; SSD; Regression analysis; pH dependency; Bioavailability;

    Sammanfattning : Environmental pollution of heavy metals has become an increasing problem. Environmental risk assessments can be conducted to investigate and determine the potential risk of polluted terrestrial environments. Traditionally, risk assessments are based on total soil metal concentrations on a dry weight basis. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Identifying factors that correlate with Enhanced Biological Phosphorus Removal upsets at Lundåkraverket

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Hållbar utveckling, miljövetenskap och teknik

    Författare :Rounak Niranjan; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Enhanced biological phosphorus removal; polyphosphate accumulating organisms; glycogen accumulating organisms; sludge content in aeration basin; nitrates in aeration basin; pH of incoming water; principal component analysis; pairwise correlations; inhibition factors;

    Sammanfattning : The Enhanced Biological Phosphorus Removal (EBPR) process is characterized as the most sustainable process to remove phosphorus from wastewater albeit with high variability in performance efficiency. Thus, unpredictable upsets in the EBPR system is the norm across several wastewater treatment plants throughout Sweden, forcing the hand of the operators to dose higher volume of chemicals to reach the effluent requirements. 5. 5. Method development for rheological characterization of microfibrillated cellulose

    Master-uppsats, Karlstads universitet

    Författare :Elin Wahlkrantz; [2020]
    Nyckelord :microfibrillated cellulose; MFC; rheology; characterization; dynamic rotational rheometer; complex viscosity; amplitude sweep; dry content; pH; conductivity; measuring geometry; gel; mikrofibrillerad cellulosa; MFC; reologi; karakterisering; dynamisk rotationsreometer; komplex viskositet; amplitudsvep; torrhalt; pH; konduktivitet; mätgeometri; gel;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis contributes to a development of a method for rheological characterization of microfibrillated cellulose. The intended use of the method is to be able to distinguish between different grades of microfibrillated cellulose. LÄS MER
