This is the case of the European Union, where populist radical right parties (PRRPs) – the most predominant type of populism in Europe – reached the Parliament in 1984, consolidated in 2014, and have since then participated in the debates about the European legislation.    Sammanfattning : With the growing number of migrants, could a populist migrant party succeed in Sweden just like the party Denk in the Netherlands? By applying Akkermans populism scale and the immigrant hypothesis this study strives to begin to answer this question by looking into one of the country’s largest migrant populations: Arab-Swedes. Through a survey (N=333) three aspects are measured (1) How populist are Arab-Swedes? (2) How is their populism expressed? (3) Is there a vacuum in Swedish politics that these attitudes can fill? This study finds that Arab-Swedes are indeed more populist than the average Swedish population, but less than the average eastern and southern European. LÄS MER
