Det exportindustriella komplexet : en idéanalys av den svenska krigsmaterielexporten som spänningsförhållande mellan regeringens intressen och övertygelser

Sammanfattning: The purpose of this thesis is to analyse the circumstance of tension within the social-democratic Swedish government regarding the Swedish arms trade. The main analysed material consist of six official state documents, three state writings, two government bills and one state information sheet. All documents were publish between the years of 2015 and 2018. The publishers of the documents are the Swedish Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Enterprise and Innovation and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. These ministries are the main actors of this thesis. The analysis is made according to a narrating idea analysis. The theoretical perspective is based on research of states and intergovernmental organisations considerations between material and normative interests and values. The thesis also regard a theoretical framework based on human rights violations as a consequence of increased arms flows and states dependance of a national defense industry. An analysis is made of the ministries ideas, prioritisation and ambitions in context of the Swedish arms trade and how these manifest in the new Swedish law export control of arms. The thesis proves a circumstance of tension between the ministries were material interests are prioritised over normative values.
