Methods: This cross-sectional type study included 835279 women, of which 151,642 were foreign-born and 683637 were Swedish-born women who gave birth to their first singleton child in Sweden between 1997 to 2016. By using Swedish microdata on income and taking advantage of decomposition methods, in particular the Blinder-Oaxaca (1973) and the Recentered Influence Function, proposed by Firpo, Fortin and Lemieux (2018), this thesis analyses the pay gaps at the mean and across the distribution.     Sammanfattning : This paper investigates the impact of the 2008's financial crisis on local crime rates in Sweden. I deploy a difference-in-differences approach that contrasts the changes in reported crimes between municipalities that are more or less crisis-exposed.
