   Sammanfattning : The following essay investigates how Spanish slang expressions and words in the novel Amor, curiosidad, prozac y dudas, by Spanish author Lucía Etxebarría (1998), have been translated to Swedish in Kärlek, nyfikenhet, prozac och tvivel, translated by the Swedish translator Manni Kössler in 2003. The essay is based on two hypotheses; 1) that there are sentences containing slang in the Spanish novel which have gotten different significances in the Swedish translation, and 2) that there are slang words and expressions in the Spanish novel that have been neutralized in the Swedish version, meaning that these slangs would have been translated in a non-slang way.
