  1. 36. The spatial variability of salinity and water flux estimates in Gialova Lagoon, Greece

    Master-uppsats, Stockholms universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi

    Författare :Kim Lundmark; [2018]
    Nyckelord :Coastal Lagoon; Gialova Lagoon; Water quality; Hydrological Modelling; Salinity; Water flux; Mass balance;

    Sammanfattning : Lagoons are coastal waterbodies which are sensitive to meteorological and hydrological changes. This study focused on the spatial distribution of salinity in Gialova lagoon, Greece. The area in which the lagoon is located is under pressure from agriculture and truism in the area. LÄS MER

  2. 37. No Place to Hide: The Impact of Climate Change on Internal Migration Across Six Sub-Saharan Countries

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Ekonomisk-historiska institutionen

    Författare :Fanny Teppe; [2018]
    Nyckelord :Climate Change; Internal Migration; Sub-Saharan Africa; Trapped populations; Social Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Drawing from 17 rounds of harmonised census data, this paper explores the link between climate variability and internal migration across six Sub-Saharan African countries. This study uses high-resolution precipitation and temperature data to construct two sets of measures capturing climate variability, the intensity of climate anomalies and the exposure to climate extremes. 3. 38. Climate Change in Kenya : a review of literature and evaluation of temperature and precipitation data

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Marie Vigren Skogseid; [2017]
    Nyckelord :climate change; Kenya; East Africa; temperature trends; precipitation patterns; extreme weather; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : The world is facing serious and complex impacts with regard to climate change. Natural and human settlements on all continents are affected, and the African continent is considered as one of the most vulnerable areas due to rapid urbanization growth and high dependency on rain-fed agriculture, amongst others. 4. 39. Climate change impacts on water resources of the Ganges : Suitable adaptation options for agriculture in the Indian-Himalayan region

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Industriell ekologi

    Författare :Hedvig Winther; [2017]
    Nyckelord :Climate change; water flows; Indian-Himalayan region; Ganges; adaptation; hydro-climatic modelling; stakeholder participatory methods; Klimatförändringar; vattenflöden; Indiska Himalaya; Ganges; anpassning; hydroklimatisk modellering; intressentdeltagande metoder;

    Sammanfattning : Climate change is affecting several environmental factors and together with socio-economic changes put high pressure on water resources. Climate change manifest itself through increasing temperatures and changes in precipitation patterns and intensities, with knock-on effects on hydrologically-relevant parameters such as water flows, evapotranspiration rates, glacial melt etcetera, all of which have already been observed in the recent past and are predicted to continue in the future. 5. 40. Climate in mind - climate-adapted neighborhood design : a case study from Nyhamnen in Malmö, Sweden

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/LUCSUS

    Författare :Anna-Lena Sauer; [2017]
    Nyckelord :Nyhamnen; Malmö; SymbioCity Approach; Sustainability Science; urban green spaces; multifunctional space; Social Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Cities affected by the impacts of climate change have to find new ways to adapt to the variability in weather patterns, such as heavy rainfalls and storms. The coastal city Malmö, a former industrial city, aims to be carbon neutral by 2020 and provided by 100 percent renewable energies in 2030. LÄS MER
