   Sammanfattning : I denna uppsats har flodnära platsers utvecklingspotential för rekreationsvärde undersökts för att få en större förståelse för flodens roll i staden, hur projekt som främjar rekreation kan se ut och vilka rekreationsvärden som ingår, och hur erfarenheter från internationella projekt och vägledande dokument skulle kunna appliceras i en svensk kontext med en tillämpning i Göteborg. Syftet med uppsatsen är att ge ett underlag som planerare kan använda sig av när de undersöker olika möjligheter i städer som har en låg andel parkmiljöer, men som har tillgång till flodnära mark med potential att utvecklas till urbana parker.
