  1. 1. Exposure and Carriage of West Nile Virus in feathered Iberian Scavengers

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för ekologi och genetik; Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för biologisk grundutbildning

    Författare :Ivan Marin Cacho; [2022]
    Nyckelord :West Nile Virus; Raptors; Vultures; Scavengers.;

    Sammanfattning : Scavenging bird of prey have been abundant throughout the Mediterranean region for years, establishing a food acquisition relationship with human activities, their characteristics make them especially suitable for the recognition of dangerous environmental conditions. The West Nile Virus (WNV) considered the most widespread arbovirus has been previously discovered in our 3 species of studio. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Offshore Wind Energy Permitting Processes in the European Union : An examination of Danish, German, Scottish and Swedish offshore permitting processes and case study of acoustic impact on marine mammals

    Master-uppsats, Stockholms universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi

    Författare :Truce Major Jack; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Permitting process; wind power; offshore wind power; acoustic impact; environmental impact assessment; marine mammals; physical planning; ecology; offshore; EIA; environmental management; juridiska förutsättningar; permit; tillstånd; tillståndsprocess; vindkraft; miljöledning; ekologi; energisystem; miljövetenskap; påverkan; bedömning; marin däggdjur;

    Sammanfattning : The permitting process is an integral part of the successful expansion of offshore wind and renewable energy in the European Union. Many permit process studies, to date, have focused on limited methods and criteria and have been a comparison of two countries. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Kan marin sand och grus utgöra ett subtitut för landbaserade naturgrustäkter? : En undersökning utanför Umeås kust

    Kandidat-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för ekologi, miljö och geovetenskap

    Författare :Marcus Nordin; [2017]
    Nyckelord :Marin sand och grus; marin täktverksamhet;

    Sammanfattning : Sand and gravel are compounds that are directly needed in the fine fraction of making concrete. Concrete is used as a foundation in 90 % of the cases when establishing new buildings in Sweden. Usually, sand and gravel are taken from land based areas. These land based areas with sand and gravel are also needed for the cleaning of the groundwater. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Light, temperature and competition : understanding the causes for climate-driven regime shifts in arctic marine benthos

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Luft-, vatten- och landskapslära

    Författare :Kim Scherrer; [2015]
    Nyckelord :macroalgae; light; invertebrate; coralline algae; Arctic; benthic; regime shift; climate change; marin ekologi; tång; kalkalg; Arktis; regimskifte; klimatförändring; ljus;

    Sammanfattning : In the Arctic, shallow sea-floor communities have been documented to shift abruptly from an invertebrate-dominated state to a state with high macroalgal abundance. Climate warming, resulting in increased water temperatures and decreased sea ice cover, could trigger such regime shifts in benthic ecosystems, but the underlying mechanisms are not clear. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Diversity and Ecology of a Middle Campanian (Late Cretaceous) Marine Reptile Assemblage from Skåne, Southern Sweden

    Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Lena Källsten; [2015]
    Nyckelord :Landmark morphometrics; Marine amniotes; Cretaceous; Mosasauridae; Plesiosauridae; Aigialosuchus; Landmärkesbaserad morfometri; marina amnioter; Kritaperioden; Mosasauridae; Plesiosauridae; Aigialosuchus;

    Sammanfattning : This study has looked at an assemblage of fossilised teeth from Mesozoic marine amniotes from the Kristianstad basin in southern Sweden in order to make an estimate of the ecomorph diversity within said assemblage through looking at the morphology of the teeth. This was done as a pilot study to see if further studies would be able to produce worthwhile results. LÄS MER
