  1. 1. Gravity water waves over constant vorticity flows: from laminar flows to touching waves

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Matematik (naturvetenskapliga fakulteten); Lunds universitet/Matematikcentrum

    Författare :Francisco Gonçalves Jorge Dias de Carvalho; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Partial differential equations; Water waves; Euler equations; Free boundary problem; Bifurcation theory; Nonlinear functional analysis; Hilbert transform; Mathematics and Statistics;

    Sammanfattning : In a recent paper, Hur and Wheeler proved the existence of periodic steady water waves over an infinitely deep, two-dimensional and constant vorticity flow and subject to gravity whose profile overhangs, among which, waves whose surface touches at a point, enclosing a bubble of air. We take this further, proving the existence of a continuous curve of water waves from a laminar flow up to a touching wave for fixed non-zero gravity. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Determination of Proton Beam Waist Positions Using Beam Position Monitors

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/European Spallation Source ESS AB; Lunds universitet/Synkrotronljusfysik

    Författare :Gustav Gird Fahlström; [2022]
    Nyckelord :ESS; European Spallation Source; Proton beam; waist; BPM; Method; transverse; beam dynamics; beam physics; Lattice Error; Matrix formalism; Python; trajectory simulation; physics; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : In this work, we examine a novel method for the determination of proton beam waist locations using beam position monitors. Based on the lattice of the final transport line section of the European Spallation Source linac, a simplified version of the beam line composed of quadrupole magnets and correctors is constructed in Python using a matrix formalism. 3. 3. Reconstruction of Fall Injuries for Children of Different Ages

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för kemi, bioteknologi och hälsa (CBH)

    Författare :Linda Björgvinsdóttir; [2019]
    Nyckelord :Medical Engineering; Biomechanics; Neuronics; Reconstruction; Falls; Children; LS-Dyna; LS-PrePost; PIPER;

    Sammanfattning : The idea to use finite element (FE) models to reconstruct accidents for humans is becoming more popular the last years. They represent the human body very accurately and indicate well changes in shape, size and biomechanical properties. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Quenching and tempering hardness response of front axle steel beams : Different material properties during quenching and tempering

    Master-uppsats, Karlstads universitet/Fakulteten för hälsa, natur- och teknikvetenskap (from 2013)

    Författare :Simon Zemui; [2017]
    Nyckelord :Axle steel beams; hardness; Quenching; tempering;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to investigate what the relation is between as-quench hardness and final surface hardness for steel beams is, depending on what tempering temperature is used. Also explain how chemistry, dimension and microstructure effects the final mechanical properties of the front axle beam. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Optimization of Section Points Locations in Electric Power Distribution Systems : Development of a Method for Improving the Reliability

    Master-uppsats, Mälardalens högskola/Akademin för ekonomi, samhälle och teknik

    Författare :Joakim Johansson; [2015]
    Nyckelord :Primary distribution system; Mälarenergi Elnät; loop structure; radially operated; section point locations; switches; power system reliability; optimization algorithm; analytical technique; FMEA; Mellanspänningsnät; Mälarenergi Elnät; slingnät; radialnät; sektioneringspunkt; frånskiljare; brytare; tillförlitlighet; optimerings algoritm; analytisk teknik; FMEA;

    Sammanfattning : The power distribution system is the final link to transfer the electrical energy to the individual customers. It is distributed in a complex technical grid but is associated with the majority of all outages occurring. Improving its reliability is an efficient way to reduce the effects of outages. LÄS MER
