Sammanfattning: How do I think as a preschool teacher around the outdoor environment at preschool? My essay begins with a story of my experience of the conditions for creative and learning opportunities in my workplace. The method of my work is essay writing. I have studied articles and studies on the importance of outdoor environment for children's development and play. As well as the use of reflection in the workgroup as a method of seeing the outdoor environment's importance from different perspectives, such as different play modes and social interaction. Which has developed my view on the importance of outdoor environment. During my writing, I have reflected on questions and my own thoughts that I gained through literature and research findings on the importance of outdoor environment at preschool. I have learned what government work has come up to, such as the National Board of Housing, the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency and the Swedish Research Council. An environmental psychologist, Fredrika Mårtensson, has written several different articles that contributed with theoretical perspectives in children's need for wide-ranging games and playing in natural environments that also makes it easier to interact socially. A researcher, Gunilla Halldén, emphasizes the importance of sometimes even critically examining the expulsion. Is it enough to just be out? I have also read Vygotsky's Fantasy and creativity in childhood, where he develops thoughts about children's development and about children's needs for creative environments and opportunities for collaboration with others.
