    Sammanfattning : The aim of this paper is to examine the influence that social control has on one’s tendency to obey the traffic regulations, in contrast to the new amendment in Swedish law from 2018 that states that it is no longer allowed to use a mobile phone while driving a vehicle. A combination of Emilé Durkheim's sociology and Talcott Parsons ideas regarding socialization laid the foundation for who and why several individuals in a person's life influences them to act conflormly, while norms and how they are created were studied to investigate how other reasons other than an economic sanction controls our behavior.
