  1. 1. Modelling the Impact of Climate and Socio-Economic Changes on Nutrient Dynamics in the Catchment of Lake Vomb

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Yanhe Zhou; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Climate change; hydrological modelling; nutrient; RCP; socioeconomic development; SSP; SWAT; water quality modelling;

    Sammanfattning : Climate change and socio-economic development are greatly affecting the quality of freshwater, especially the excessive accumulation of nutrients (N and P), which eventually leads to the occurrence of eutrophication. Lake Vomb is one of the main sources of drinking water in southern Sweden and the nutrient load from the catchment makes it a eutrophic lake with recurring algal blooms. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Improved Understanding of Water Balance in the Malwathu Oya River Basin Using SWAT and Remote Sensing

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Alexander Fors; [2022]
    Nyckelord :actual evapotranspiration; Malwathu Oya; remote sensing; Sri Lanka; SWAT modelling; SWAT calibration; WaPOR; water balance; faktisk evapotranspiration; fjärranalys; Malwathu Oya; Sri Lanka; SWAT-modellering; SWAT-kalibrering; vattenbalans; WaPOR;

    Sammanfattning : As the need for climatic data is increasing in times of climate change and water scarcity, remote sensing (RS) and hydrological modelling are ways to battle these problems, especially in data scarce areas. The actual evapotranspiration (ETa) is one of the key parameters when assessing the water balance and a good estimate of this parameter is thus of great importance. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Characterization and modeling of hydrology and climatology in paramo ecosystems in Colombia : A study of the paramos and climate change impact on these ecosystems as a water resource

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Luft-, vatten- och landskapslära

    Författare :Lovisa Nilsson; Julia Tholander; [2022]
    Nyckelord :paramo; hydrology; climate change; precipitation; discharge; modeling; characterization; HBV; ENSO; paramo; hydrologi; klimatförändringar; nederbörd; avrinning; modellering; karaktärisering; HBV; ENSO;

    Sammanfattning : Paramos are unique ecosystems situated in the tropical Andes at an elevation of 2800-4800 meters above sea level. They are home to a variety of endemic species and have a great water regulating capacity and supply around 80 % of the population in Colombia with freshwater. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Effects of afforestation and crop systems on the water balance in the highlands of Ethiopia

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Soil and Environment

    Författare :Rebecca Naomi Ter Borg; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Acacia decurrens; landscape water balance; sediment yield; soil and water conservation; SWAT modelling; water balance partitioning;

    Sammanfattning : In the Upper Blue Nile Basin land use is rapidly changing due to agricultural development and intensification with potential effects on the water availability both up- and downstream. This study is aimed to explore the impact of agricultural land use change on a landscape water balance. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Simulations of water balance conditions and cli-mate variability for Sustainable Agriculture and Energy in the Lower Rufiji Basin.

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Mark- och vattenteknik

    Författare :Rajabu Hamisi; [2013]
    Nyckelord :Adaptation; Agriculture; Climate Change; CoupModel; Hydropower; SWAT; Water Balance;

    Sammanfattning : This study provides a long-term understanding of the impact of climate varia-bility and land use on seasonal water balance conditions for sustainable agricul-ture development, hydropower generation and ecosystem stability in the Lower Rufiji Basin. The severity of soil drought, extreme flooding and salinity intru-sion in the lower Rufiji floodplains are currently increasing smallholder poverty and enhance the sensitivity on the natural wetlands for shifting farming and livestock pastures.
