  1. 1. Making nets more acoustically visible : Floats as passive mitigation measures to reduce bycatch of harbour porpoise (Phocoena phocoena) in gillnets

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. Of Aquatic Resources

    Författare :Frida Rosshagen; [2023]
    Nyckelord :toothed whales; harbour porpoise; Phocoena phocoena; incidental capture; bycatch; fisheries; fishing gear; ; gillnet; mitigation; reduction; low-cost; passive acoustic reflector; float;

    Sammanfattning : Incidental capture in fishing gear is today affecting at least 112 marine mammal species worldwide and for many smaller toothed whale species (Odontocete), gillnets are considered to be the largest problem. Although some effective mitigation measures exists, these are often context specific and many might be hard to implement due to reasons such as high costs and maintenance. LÄS MER

  2. 2. En resa över havet : en studie av stockbåtens användning inom Erteböllekulturen med ett fokus på Tybrind Vig och Stralsund

    Kandidat-uppsats, Linnéuniversitetet/Institutionen för kulturvetenskaper (KV)

    Författare :Håkan Bengtsson; [2018]
    Nyckelord :Log-boat; Dugout canoe; Stone age; Mesolithic; Ertebölle culture; Paddle; Baltic sea;

    Sammanfattning : Log-boats within the Ertebölle culture have had a broad use in the society. From social usesas transport and communication devises to economical uses within hunting and fishing. Thelog-boats have been quite large, larger than log-boats in later periods. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Evidence for a Stone Age fibre technology – a closer look at the prehistoric String Theory

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Arkeologi

    Författare :Eva Christina Wigforss; [2014]
    Nyckelord :Grounded Theory; prehistoric fiber string theory; materiality; knotting; perforated beads; textile impression in clay; cordage; fishing and hunting gear; Upper Palaeolithic; Mesolithic; textile ethnographia; History and Archaeology;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of the present study was to take a closer look into the evidence for a theory of prehistoric string manufacture, formulated by the British archaeologist Karen Hardy in the article Prehistoric string theory. How twisted fibers helped to shape the world (Hardy, 2008). LÄS MER

  4. 4. Reduction of Undesired Range Shifting in an Agricultural Continuously Variable Transmission

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för reglerteknik

    Författare :Henrik Knutsson; Michael Pettersson; [2013]
    Nyckelord :dSpace MicroAutoBox II; ECCOM gearbox; CVT; continuously variable transmission; gear hunting; gear alternation; range shifting; CANape; CANalyzer; droop limit; ZF Friedrichshafen AG; driveline; powertrain; VDC; ECU; TCU; vehicle CAN-buses; Simulink.; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : The subject of this thesis was to investigate the possibility of a supplemental control algorithm to suppress gear alternation in the ZF ECCOM gearbox series. The acquired solutions were implemented on a dSpace MicroAutoBox II and connected to a Claas Xerion 5000 to evaluate their effect. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Användande av avskjutningsstatistik i förvaltning : påverkar tidigare jakt CPUE?

    Magister-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Wildlife, Fish and Environmental Studies

    Författare :Mirja Lindberget; [2009]
    Nyckelord :CPUE; bag statistics; harvest management; effort; willow ptarmigan Lagopus lagopus ;

    Sammanfattning : In fisheries, there is a long tradition to use catch data when evaluating changes in the stock and effects from harvesting. It is a common practice to use Catch Per Unit Effort (CPUE) as an index of population size, and several studies have investigated the properties of CPUE in relation to population abundance, spatial distribution and efficiency of gear.
