  1. 1. Material av restprodukter från hampa till produktdesign

    Kandidat-uppsats, Malmö universitet/Institutionen för konst, kultur och kommunikation (K3)

    Författare :Daniel Gezavati; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Industrial Design; Sustainability; Hemp; Material Innovation; By-products; Upcycling; Industridesign; Hållbarhet; Hampa; Restprodukter;

    Sammanfattning : This paper is a research through design that answers the question: How can the by-products from hemp production be utilized to create a sustainable material for product design?Hemp is the commercial crop that sequesters carbon dioxide most effectively in the world, but large amounts of bast fibers and hurd emerge as by-products ater cultivation for seeds, flowers, and leaves. These by-products can be difficult for farmers to manage as they require space for storage and often must undergo a lengthy production process before they can be converted into products. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Biochar and Hemp as Peat Substituents in Horticultural Substrates and Their Effects on Presence of Microbiota

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Biosystems and Technology (from 130101)

    Författare :Louise Hagbard; [2022]
    Nyckelord :biochar; hemp; Cannabis sativa; peat reduction; peat; microbiome; fibers; substrate; growing media; Trichoderma; Pseudomonas; Lactuca sativa;

    Sammanfattning : The extraction of peat has been shown to have a detrimental impact on the environment in several ways, including through emissions of greenhouse gases but also through a negative impact on fragile habitats, ecosystems, and ecosystem services. The horticultural sector is a major user of peat products and thus contributes to both emissions and habitat changes. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Svensk hampa : från spill till inredning

    Kandidat-uppsats, Högskolan i Borås/Akademin för textil, teknik och ekonomi

    Författare :Monika Nordlin; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Hemp; industrial hemp; biocomposites; fossil free; natural fiber; waste material; local self-sufficiency; remoteness; Hampa; industrihampa; biokomposit; spillmaterial; fossilfri; naturmaterial; lokal självförsörjning; remoteness;

    Sammanfattning : Produktionen av syntetiska textilfibrer har lett till stora konsekvenser för miljön, bland annat i form av utsläpp av mikroplaster samt stora koldioxidutsläpp. Textilbranschen har i och med globaliseringen centrerat produktionen till ett fåtal låglöneländer och avståndet mellan producent och konsument har gjort det svårare för användaren att förstå vilket avtryck en vara lämnar på miljön. 4. 4. Alkaline Protein Extraction of Oat Bran and Oat Endosperm Flour - the Effect of pH during Extraction and Precipitation

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Livsmedelsteknik och nutrition (master)

    Författare :Bella Nielsen; Alva Rodhe; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Oats; Protein; Alkaline extraction; Protein extraction; Plant-based proteins; Oat protein; Oat bran; Oat endosperm; Iso-electric precipitation; Food engineering; Technology and Engineering; Agriculture and Food Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : An increased understanding of the negative impacts of animal-based proteins, on both environment and health, has led to a rise in the demand for plant-based proteins. To meet the demands, conventional crops must be efficiently utilized. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Fibres from agricultural hemp waste

    Kandidat-uppsats, Högskolan i Borås/Akademin för textil, teknik och ekonomi

    Författare :Ella Kärkkäinen; Åsa Älgbrant; Simon Kronberg; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Hemp fibres; hemp residue; unretted hemp; nonwoven hemp;

    Sammanfattning : There is an increasing demand for natural fibres in the textile industry as a consequence of the negative impact of the industry on the environment. Svensk Hampaindustri (SHI) is currently growing hemp in Sweden for its seeds. This leaves residue in the form of hemp stems that could be processed for textile products. LÄS MER
