  1. 1. Development of a waste sorting system in Morrumbene, Mozambique : Exploring how to engage a community in waste sorting

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Författare :Julia Ramm; Jenny Sjöstrand; [2023]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : This abstract presents a Master’s Thesis in Industrial Design Engineering conducted on behalf of Project Vita, a non-profit organisation working in Morrumbene, Mozambique. The aim of the project was to develop an implementable waste sorting system that would align with the customs of the community and serve as a foundation for a more advanced solid waste management system. 2. 2. Encouraging Recycling in Co-living : A Redesigning of Sorting Bins

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Författare :Eugene Chan; Avinash Kumar Karuppasamy; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Co-living; Student Household; Sustainable Behavior; Collective Responsibility; Individualistic Responsibility; User Experience; Nudging; Product Service System; Sorting Bins; Waste Management; Recycling; Sorting; Co-living; Studentbostad; Studentbostäder; Hållbart beteende; Kollektivt ansvar; Individualistiskt ansvar; Användarupplevelse; Puffning; Produktservicesystem; Sorteringskärl; Avfallshantering; Återvinning; Källsortering;

    Sammanfattning : There is an inefficiency of waste management in co-living spaces for students, emphasizing the importance of proper waste sorting. A multifaceted research methodology was initiated with a literature review to understand existing waste management solutions and how they work as a system, followed by attribute studies pivotal for co-living spaces. 3. 3. Automatic waste sorter : Automatic sorting of metal and non-metal objects

    Magister-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Författare :Vishi Sharan; Merna Iskander; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Waste; Mechatronics; Micro controller; Inductive proximity sensor; Metal; Avfall; Mekatronik; Mikro kontroller; Induktiv närhets sensor; Metall;

    Sammanfattning : Our earths resources are not endless, so it is important to avoid wasting our planets natural resources. Recycling metal saves 95% more energy than producing new metal from ore, which is why it is necessary to reuse metal. Waste sorting is very important in today’s modern society as the demand for metals is increasing at a rapid rate. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Nedkastat och bortsuget: En studie om det nyinstallerade stationära sopsugssystemet i Brunnshög med fokus på hinder och möjligheter med systemet

    Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Miljövetenskaplig utbildning; Lunds universitet/Centrum för miljö- och klimatvetenskap (CEC)

    Författare :Hiba Kardas; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Stationary automated vacuum waste collection system; AVAC; circular economy; artificial intelligence; environmental and economic benefits; digitalization; dimensioning; Brunnshög; Lund´s municipality; Envac.; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Major revolutionary and technological developments have taken place in the world, yet developments in waste management in particular have been slower than others and remained more or less unchanged through the years. The Swedish company Envac invented the stationary automated vacuum waste collection system AVAC, an underground pipe network where waste is transported through a vacuum technique to a collection station where the waste is separated into different containers. 5. 5. The Potential of Reducing Carbon Footprint Through Improved Sorting

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Fredrika Olsson; [2020]
    Nyckelord :Waste composition analysis; life cycle analysis; carbon footprint; residual waste; food waste; plastic packaging; Plockanalys; livscykelanalys; klimatavtryck; restavfall; matavfall; plastförpackningar;

    Sammanfattning : Almost five million tonnes of household waste was generated in Sweden in 2018, half of which was residual waste sent for incineration with energy recovery. For materials that can not be recycled or biologically treated, incineration with energy recovery is considered a preferred management option. LÄS MER
