  1. 11. Does growth of Limosilactobacillus reuteri DSM 17938 in infant formula have an impact on its probiotic features?

    Kandidat-uppsats, SLU/Department of Molecular Sciences

    Författare :Astrid Hägg; Carolin Marklund; [2022]
    Nyckelord :probiotics; postbiotics; Limosilactobacillus reuteri; gastrointestinal tract; infant formula;

    Sammanfattning : The human gut microbiota establishes at birth and forms a life-long relationship with its host. A rich diversity in the microbiota has been suggested as a key association for healthy individuals. To ensure a microbial equilibrium, clinically proven beneficial bacteria in the form of probiotics can be applied. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Production of 5-ketogluconic acid using recombinant strains of Gluconobacter oxydans

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Bioteknik (CI); Lunds universitet/Bioteknik (master)

    Författare :Aakash Reddy Murugadasan; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Gluconobacter oxydans; Escherichia coli; 5-Keto-D-gluconic acid; Alcohol dehydrogenase; Biotechnology; Biology and Life Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : 5-Keto-D-gluconic acid (5-KGA) is a valuable compound that has a wide range of applications in the chemical and food industries and is commonly used as a precursor for manufacturing tartaric acid (TA). Industrial production of 5-KGA through chemical approaches was practiced in the early 1920’s and was dropped immediately due to several drawbacks because of its complicated process that resulted in lower 5-KGA yield and higher accumulation of impure gluconic acid. 3. 13. Bearbetningsmetoders påverkan på markorganismers aktivitet i jorden : i perenna odlingar samt i odlingssystem med mellangrödor

    Kandidat-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Biosystems and Technology (from 130101)

    Författare :Jenny Olofsson; [2021]
    Nyckelord :markorganismer; respiration; organiskt material; odlingsmetoder; biologiska processer; kemiska processer och fysikaliska processer; perenna odlingssystem; mellangrödor; klimatförändringar; microbial activity; respiration; organic matter; soil tillage methods; biological processes; chemical processes and physical processes; perennial crops; conservation agriculture; intermediate crops; climate change;

    Sammanfattning : Klimatförändringarna, som både påverkat och påverkar vår planet, kräver att mänskliga aktiviteter förändras till mer resurssnåla och systemeffektiva processer. I dessa processer bör markens bördighet vara det centrala, eftersom en bördig mark kan generera stabila skördar och bidra till en långsiktigt hållbar matförsörjning. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Food Safety Risk Perceptions in the Dumpster Diving Community and Analysis of Bacterial Burden in Discarded Foods

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för medicinsk biokemi och mikrobiologi

    Författare :Corneus Allyson; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Dumpster diving; totting; skipping; biomedicine; global health; public health; life sciences; microbiology of the food;

    Sammanfattning : The main topic of this study was dumpster diving (the act of retrieving discarded goods, in this case especially food, from waste containers) and the exploration of this activity from the infection biology viewpoint. Dumpster diving is a common way of accessing goods without spending economic resources, as well as an expression of anti-consumerism or civil disobedience. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Influence of permafrost disintegration on wetland carbon fluxes in Abisko, Sweden

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Aida Esmailzadeh Davani; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Physical Geography; Ecosystem Analysis; Permafrost; CH4 flux; CO2 flux; Abisko; Wetlands; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : The northern permafrost regions are experiencing a rapid warming as surface temperatures are rising, causing a disintegration of permafrost and a deepening of the active layer (AL). This releases previously frozen carbon, making it available for decomposition by microbes. LÄS MER
