    Sammanfattning : The following thesis examines two responses to processes of social change within the small town of Vellinge in the province of Scania, Sweden. The experiences of change within the town appear in the guise of two contradicting narratives – one of the town’s progress and the other of its decline – which I aim to approximate from nine in-depth interviews with eight inhabitants conducted in two cycles.     Sammanfattning : This study uses GIS analyses to investigate the risk that increasing sea levels and highest projected highwater pose by increasing the risk of inundation on state-owned roads and railways as well as environmental objects in their side areas. This is done through an assessment of sea level rise projections and a risk analysis, which points out where vulnerable features are located and provides timeframes and durations for the risk.
