   Sammanfattning : This thesis examines houses built using the same construction methods as those of a traditional Scandinavian wooden pole fence. The investigation aims to make a comprehensive description of wooden pole fence-buildings by studying the areas of use, material economic conditions and crafts methods through literature research, image analysis, investigations and descriptions of three still existing buildings, and a full-scale reconstruction of a wooden pole fence-building.    Sammanfattning : The informants say in the interviews that when it was finished with all the heavy daily duties and everyday things, the knitting was brougt out. That is perhaps what is the connection to today's knitting, that the everyday fades a little, one's monotonous work, one's state of health, whatever it is, maybe knitting frees us from it and gives us a new spirituality, a new liberating space where our creation achieves something free, without musts, a space where we can create as we want and feel free.
