    Sammanfattning : I denna uppsats har jag gjort en närläsning av romanen No Longer Human (1948), skriven av den japanske författaren Osamu Dazai (1909 - 1948) och översatt till engelska (1958) av den amerikanske forskaren Donald Keene (1922 - 2019).      Romanen tillhör shishosetsu, en semi-självbiografisk genre som formades i Japan under det tidiga 1900-talet.     Sammanfattning : The aim of this paper is to gain a greater understanding of the meaning-making process behind Finland and Sweden’s decision to join NATO in 2022, and by so, deviate from their long-standing tradition of military non-alignment. Instead of solely pointing to the Russian invasion of Ukraine as the official reason for NATO membership this paper suggests that the concept of strategic culture can provide one with a greater understanding of their decision to join NATO.     Sammanfattning : The purpose of this essay is to show the narrator’s use of the male and the queer gaze in three short stories by Edgar Allan Poe: “Berenice: A Tale” (1835), “The Man that was Used Up: A Tale of the Late Bugaboo and Kickapoo Campaign” (1839) and ”The Man of the Crowd” (1845). Through close reading of the stories, I show how the different gazes work, how they are used in the stories and what they lead to. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : This study aims to explore gender norms within the romance genre when they are no longer applied on a romantic relationship between a man and a woman. Through a close reading of the novel Power Plays & Straight A’s by Eden Finley and Saxon James, the study examines the main characters, Foster Grant and Zach Sawyer, to observe how they fit into the roles of a traditional romance hero and heroine.
