    Sammanfattning : The aim of this study has been to investigate future history teachers’ perspectives of the development of the subject of history, in conjunction with the democratic mission of the curriculum. Based on critically constructivist theories, the history subject is reproducing oppressive structures, especially related to gender, sexuality, and ethnicity, which is not in line with the democratic mission, teachers are obliged to comply with.
