  2. 12. Comparative study of risk analysis methods from a fire safety perspective - Case study of new underground facilities at CERN

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Brandteknik

    Författare :Frida Olin; Erik Isaksson; [2016]
    Nyckelord :Risk analysis methods; design fires; event tree analysis; preliminary hazard analysis; What-if; ROGA; Gretener method; NFPA 101; comparative analysis; CERN; technical risk analysis methods; case study; LHC; HL-LHC; complex methods; simplified methods; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : This report has investigated which type of risk analysis methods that can be used in an early design phase in a unique facility from a time and quality perspective. Two planned underground facilities for the HL-LHC at CERN have been used as a case study. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Simulating production risk at Volvo Powertrain - Developing a simulation tool for decision making

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Förpackningslogistik

    Författare :Magnus Cederlund; [2014]
    Nyckelord :Risk Management; Supply Chain Risk Management; Fault Tree Analysis; Preliminary Hazard Analysis; Lean Production; Risk Matrix; World Class Manufacturing; Fire Safety; Volvo Powertrain; Business and Economics; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : How can a small fire at a subcontractor in the USA lead to a multimillion dollar loss at a Swedish telephone company, and how can a single machine breakdown lead to a complete production stop at a production company? With today logistics and production trends, where terms such as Lean Production, Six Sigma, 5S, and World Class Manufacturing are used every day, production companies are introducing streamline production facilities and supply chain where goods and raw material are delivered just in time, where buffer zones are reduced, and where suppliers are reduced to a single source. These are trends that strengthen companies’ competitiveness, but it also makes companies more vulnerable to risk events. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Brandteknisk riskvärdering av Torpa Stenhus

    L3-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Brandteknik; Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Riskhantering och Samhällssäkerhet

    Författare :Nicklas Jansson; Anton Wikensten; Anna Malmeström; Alexandra Sutinen; [2013]
    Nyckelord :Kulturminne; CFD; FDS; Pyrosim; stenhus; brandscenario; utrymning; utrymningssimulering; Simulex; effektutvecklingskurva; brandsimulering Torpa Stenhus; grovanalys; analytiska metoder; kritiska förhållanden; DETACT T2; personsäkerhet; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : A risk evaluation with regards to fire safety has been performed at Torpa Stenhus. The focus of the evaluation was the safety of the people inside the building in case of a fire. As part of the education for future fire protection engineers at LTH a risk evaluation report is performed in the course Brandteknisk riskvärdering (VBR054). LÄS MER

  5. 15. Using Logistic Regression and Variable Selection to Model Time-To-Event Data:Applications to Tree Phenology and Graduation Time of Engineers

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Matematisk statistik

    Författare :Jesse Burström; [2013]
    Nyckelord :Mathematics and Statistics;

    Sammanfattning : The day of bud burst (DBB) and leaf senescence are two examples of time-to-event phenological processes influenced by climate factors. Time to graduation or quitting for engineering students is another example of time-to-event data, with the added complication of having multiple possible outcomes, or absorbing states. LÄS MER
