    Sammanfattning : The purpose of this essay is to examine how themes in contemporary literature relate to themes in the literature from the Modern Breakthrough in Sweden. I examine the novel Dagarna, dagarna, dagarna by Tone Schunnesson by posing three questions: How does the novel portray the relations between consumption, gender, power, freedom and desire? How does the novel portray the relation between human relationships and money? What are the main character’s possibilities for freedom and independence? The analysis is related over time, to themes typical for the literature of The Swedish Modern Breakthrough in the 1880s, and more specifically to the novel Money by Victoria Benedictsson. LÄS MER
